Maintenance & Mechanics
" I like working with the rabbits and anything outdoors like building and mechanics. I have learnt about independent travelling. In woodwork I have made a bird which took me about two months to make and now I am making a big snake"

This is not only a very useful department to the Centre but an enjoyable and rewarding one too. Our team of students get involved in servicing and repairing our own machinery, such as lawn mowers and tractors, as well as mending punctures and changing wheels.
Students are able to learn many key skills such as: using a tape measure, hammer, screw driver, spanners, saw, electric drill and many more. Our Maintenance Team of students do valuable work around the Centre and farm. This is highly rewarding for our students because they are able to see their hard work put to use everyday. Our students are always gaining new experiences, learning the importance of looking after things they value and taking pride in the work they do. They also learn the importance of keeping safe in the department and avoiding any injury. |
